Other acts of genius include having a large cardboard cutout placed immediately behind the front wheel, so as to stop mud being splattered on your legs. Pushing another bike along with your leg while you ride yours – because the other bike won’t start. Tilting a bike over completely on to the left, to drain whatever little petrol there is in the tank towards the outlet.
The cutest, though, has to be the little kid sitting behind his mum on a scooter. Facing the other way and having the time of his life, waving at all and sundry.
I know. I’ve done it, and it is outrageous fun.
