Pul is bridge. Lakdi is wooden.
And of course, much as you’d expect, Lakdi Pul is not lakdi at all. It might have been at one point, way back in history, but not today. Still, that’s no reason to go and change the name, is it?
Lakdi Pul connects Deccan Gymkhana to LINS – the Land of Impossibly Narrow Streets. It is open only to three-wheelers and above, two-wheelers should use the Z-bridge instead.
The Z bridge is called the Z Bridge because it looks like a Z.
There are, as far as I know, eleven bridges that connect Pune to LINS – each wonderful in it’s own, Puneri way.
